Mike Pence To Star As Electro In 'Spider-Man: Comes Out Of The Closet'
US Vice President Mike Pence will make his big screen debut next summer as Electro for Spider-Man: Comes Out Of The Closet. Critics were reportedly "shocked" by Pence's acting abilities, according to multiple anonymous sources who witnessed an early screening of the film.
Spider-Man: Comes Out Of The Closet is about how Peter Parker (Spider-Man) returns home from his trip to Europe and comes out as a homosexual.
Electro is revealed to be a religious-fundamentalist homophobe who is targeting the entire population of Manhattan for electroshock treatment. Spider-Man reportedly attempts to stop Electro, but will he get shocked as well?
Principal photography for the film was wrapped up by mid-March of this year. The film is scheduled to see a summer 2020 release and will be a direct sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home, which is slated to hit theaters this July.
"I think it's about time that Spider-Man comes out as gay," tweeted comic book legend Stan Lee on Monday, which was later retweeted by J. K. Rowling. "It's time for us to recognize that these heroes we've all grown to love were actually a part of the LGBTQ+ community all along. Makes ya think, huh?"
