Trump Asks Elon Musk To Build 'Thai Caves' On The Border
A child stuck in a cave, separated from their family. Unsure when, or if, they will ever be reunited with their family. For many, it’s a nightmare come true. For President Donald Trump, it is “the best border policy in the history of border policy, perhaps ever.”
Trump appears to have misunderstood the recent situation regarding the 12 boys trapped in a Thai cave. A day after the boys were rescued, Trump expressed his dismay, believing Thailand had been separating immigrant families and keeping the children in caves. Trump tweeted:
“Thailand is an innovator in border policy. But we will continue to do what we always have here in America. We will take their idea, change it a little, and then sell it as our own. No one will build caves better than America. I am sure my good friend Elon Musk will help me.”
Trump was called into a meeting where the situation was explained to him, namely that this was not an attempt at immigration policy but instead a closely-watched tragedy, and also the boys were not immigrants. Trump’s only comment was that Thailand needs to be stricter on their borders.
Trump has now begun funding his new project, “The Below Ground Wall.” He aims to build “Thai caves” all along the border so that “families seeking refuge can separate themselves.” Trump is under the belief that developing these caves will allow ICE workers more time to focus on “ripping apart hard-working American families.”
When reached for comment on Trump’s cave-development project, Elon Musk said only “I’m too busy building the future.”
