Trump Dismisses 'East Coast Liberal Intellectual Elite' Oklahoma Public School Teacher Walkout

Oklahoma City, OK -- A dismissive President Donald Trump today referred to the Oklahoma public school teachers as “East Coast liberal intellectual elites” in criticizing their walkout rally for higher wages and greater government funding for their classrooms.

“These teachers don’t know what the heartland is going through. There’s an opioid addiction and Mexicans, lot of them. If they would travel across America and go to the middle of the country, they would see this,” Trump said at a rare morning press conference from The White House.

“They are in their ivory towers covered in ivy, within their own Ivy League institutions and they don’t care about America. I bet if we put a tariff on their wages, they wouldn’t be too happy about that. Or put a stop to them wasting money buying supplies on Amazon with their postage deals and their Prime accounts. They don’t know how real Americans in coal mines and ironworkers are struggling. They are trapped in their Dust Bowl bubble.”

The school teachers in question were quick to point out that Oklahoma indeed is not located on the Eastern coast of the United States. Those polled did however admit they will not be giving up their Prime memberships anytime soon, what with the new season of ‘Transparent’ upcoming. “We want to see the direction the storyline goes without Jeffrey Tambor, seems interesting,” third-grade teacher Dolores Montclair said at a recent protest march.
