Republicans Outraged Jim Carrey Selected To Redraw Pennsylvania Congressional Map After Supreme Court Rejection
Washington, DC -- The Supreme Court today upheld a decision by lower courts to have Pennsylvania congressional maps redrawn by actor Jim Carrey, in a ruling sure to rile up Republicans in the state.
Carrey has lately been a lightning rod for controversy among conservativesafter his unflattering painting of White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. After posting a photo on Twitter and captioning the portrait “a so-called Christian whose only purpose in life is to lie for the wicked” and referring to Sanders as “monstrous,” Carrey was on the receiving end of much criticism from Fox News and other outlets.
The actor is preparing to draw the congressional maps in a more favorable light, with more blue tones, especially around traditionally Democratic strongholds in Pennsylvania. Carrey says he wants to emphasize the party that is more “Chrisitan-like” these days.
